Ep 252: Clayface
Dave & Cody review Clayface, the $44 million horror movie that made back its budget on opening weekend.
They open with a tribute to Sir Patrick Stewart, who died the day they recorded, and Dave explains how a bald starship captain taught a teenage Gen Xer that he’d have to rewrite his rules about what women find attractive. Our resident horror lover Leah came down sick and couldn’t make it. She still sent notes, and Cody reads them on air, and they go deeper than either host planned: the Kardashians, Michael Jackson, and how far is too far to fix yourself. Dave makes the case for aiming small, compares the plot to a 1990 Kevin Costner movie nobody remembers, and saves his Loser pick for a man who can’t stay off Threads. Then they head out to the Lobby for a Halloween round of listener questions, including the true story that inspired Freddy Krueger.
SPOILER WARNING: Full spoilers for Clayface after the news segment.
