Pop Culture Pastor started because Dave and Cody were having these conversations anyway.
We're geeks. We're also ministers. Those two things have never felt like a contradiction to us, but it did put us in a strange spot: we kept looking at a world that seemed determined to sort itself into camps, arguing endlessly over the handful of things we don't have in common. Meanwhile, there was this whole other pile of things we all share. The movie you quote with your friends. The anime that got you through a hard year. Losing a weekend to a new video game.
That felt like a place to start.
So we did. We started a podcast. We took it to the cons. And what we found there is that when you sit down with someone over a story you both love, you're already most of the way to actually knowing them.
We talk movies, TV, and whatever's got our attention that week. Sometimes we get deep. Sometimes it's just two guys and one of the Geeks of the Round Table drafting the greatest fictional football players of all time.
Either way, you're welcome at the table.
